Person Dies After Incident on Tracks at Great Coates Station

A fatal incident on the railway at Great Coates station has led to the death of one person.

Emergency services were dispatched to the station at around 11am on Sunday 25 January after reports were received of a person on the tracks. Police officers and paramedics attended, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have confirmed the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious. A report will now be submitted to the coroner in line with standard procedure.

British Transport Police said:

“Officers were called at around 11am on Sunday 25 January to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Great Coates railway station. Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
