Signalling Fault at St Albans City Causes Evening Delays

A signalling fault at St Albans City railway station is causing delays on services between Luton and London St Pancras International this evening.

Trains travelling through the area may be delayed by up to 10 minutes, with disruption expected to continue until around 22:00. The issue is particularly affecting northbound Thameslink services, where delays of around 10 minutes are being reported.

Network Rail engineers are currently investigating the fault, which has begun to cause congestion on the route. In response, Thameslink is working to ease the impact by diverting some services via alternative lines where possible.

Passengers can continue to use their usual routes, although journeys may take slightly longer than normal. In addition, some trains between West Hampstead Thameslink and Leagrave may depart from different platforms than usual, so travellers are advised to check information screens and announcements before boarding.

Overall, only minor delays are expected, but passengers should allow extra time while the issue is resolved.
