Fire Near London Bridge Disrupts Train Services

A fire beside the railway near London Bridge railway station caused disruption to train services earlier, with multiple routes affected while emergency services dealt with the incident.

At the time, platform 9 at the station was unavailable, forcing changes to normal operations and resulting in trains being revised or diverted to alternative London terminals.

Services on the Hastings line were diverted to and from London Cannon Street railway station, while Maidstone East line trains were redirected to and from London Victoria railway station.

Southeastern put ticket acceptance in place, allowing passengers to use the London Underground at no extra cost between London terminals to help complete their journeys.

The disruption was expected to last until around 19:45, but services have now returned to normal following the incident being resolved.
