Swanley Rail Disruption: Trespasser Sparks Rail Shutdown
Rail services through Swanley have been brought to an abrupt halt following a trespass incident, leaving passengers facing widespread disruption across the Southeastern network.
Operators have confirmed that trains running through the station are currently unable to proceed, with services either cancelled, delayed or altered while the situation is dealt with. The impact is being felt across multiple routes in the area as crews respond to the incident.
As part of safety procedures, the electric current supplying the railway has been switched off. This has resulted in all trains in the Swanley vicinity being brought to a standstill, with no movements possible until it is deemed safe to resume operations.
Passengers have been warned that disruption is likely to continue into the evening, with normal services not expected to return until around 21:00. Travellers are being advised to check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys.
