Three Charged After Assault on Elderly Men Outside Wolverhampton Station
Three men are set to appear in court after being charged following an assault on two elderly men outside Wolverhampton railway station, at the conclusion of a British Transport Police investigation.
Zackery Hall, aged 20 and from Dudley, faces a charge of Grievous Bodily Harm, alongside a racially aggravated public order offence and three additional public order charges. Nathan Edwards, 25, of Darlaston, has been charged with GBH and Actual Bodily Harm, as well as two public order offences, criminal damage and resisting arrest. Leon Willetts, 18, from Rowley Regis, has been charged with GBH and resisting arrest.
All three defendants have been released on bail and are due to appear at Dudley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 5 March.
British Transport Police say officers were called to reports of an assault at approximately 1.45pm on Friday 15 August 2025, in the area outside Wolverhampton railway station. Three men were arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning before being released on police bail while enquiries continued.
The victims, two men aged in their 60s and 70s, were taken to hospital for treatment. They were later discharged, and both they and their families have since been informed of the charges.
BTP Superintendent Sue Peters said:
“We understand the concern this incident has caused to the victims and their families, as well as the local Sikh community and wider public. A thorough investigation has taken place, and three men have now been charged in connection. It's vital that the judicial process is allowed to continue without interference, and that nothing is said or published which could prejudice the ongoing court proceedings. We remain in close contact with the victims and continue to engage with the Sikh community and partner agencies.”
