Broken Down Train at Bentley Blocks Leeds to Doncaster Services

A broken down train in the Bentley area of South Yorkshire is causing disruption, with some lines through the station closed.

Train services are currently unable to run between Leeds and Doncaster in either direction.

As a result, services between Leeds and Doncaster may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 15 minutes while the issue is dealt with.

Disruption is expected to continue until 19:00.

Northern have posted the following on X:

Services between Leeds - Doncaster are being disrupted due to a broken down train on the line. You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Road transport has been requested to run between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster. However, replacement transport is proving difficult to arrange because of limited availability.

National Rail Enquiries have now posted an update on this replacement transport:

A bus has been confirmed to operate at 17:35 from Doncaster to Wakefield Westgate, then drop off as required to Leeds (operate by Elite).

and

A bus will operate at 18:10 from Wakefield Westgate to Doncaster (operated by RSZ mini buses).

Northern has lifted ticket restrictions in the affected area during the disruption, including advance and peak restrictions. These restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption has ended.

Passengers are being advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys.
