Man Slashed With Knife in Birmingham New Street Attack
Detectives have released a CCTV image following a knife attack at Birmingham New Street station which left a man injured.
The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Thursday 23 April while the victim was walking through the station.
According to investigators, the victim was approached by a man who shouted “what are you on?” before allegedly producing a knife and swinging it towards him, slashing his arm.
The suspect then fled the station in the direction of Smallbrook Queensway and towards the Bullring shopping centre.
The victim was treated in hospital and police confirmed his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
British Transport Police officers believe the man shown in the CCTV image may be able to assist with enquiries and are appealing to the public for help identifying him.
Anyone who recognises the man is asked to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 603 of 23 April. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
