Football Fans Accused of Racist and Nazi Abuse on Sunderland Train

Detectives have released images of several men following reports of racist, antisemitic and misogynistic abuse on board a train travelling to Sunderland.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm on Wednesday 24 January when a large group of football supporters allegedly caused disorder on the service.

According to investigators, lone women on the train were subjected to misogynistic abuse, while antisemitic remarks and Nazi salutes were also reportedly made. Railway staff were additionally targeted with racist comments during the incident.

British Transport Police confirmed that nine males aged between 14 and 48 have already been interviewed in connection with the investigation and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Officers are now appealing to the public to help identify the men shown in the released images, as they may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.
