Police Appeal After Elderly Man Assaulted on Train to Gravesend
Police are seeking witnesses after an elderly man was assaulted during a train journey to Gravesend earlier this month.
The incident occurred at around 4.35pm on 1 January 2026, when a train guard approached a passenger to inspect his ticket. Officers say the man became aggressive during the interaction, directing threats and verbal abuse at the guard.
An elderly passenger attempted to step in but was also threatened. The situation then escalated, with the man pushing the elderly passenger to the floor before forcing him off the train and onto the platform.
British Transport Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or has information that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
