Police Confirm Death at Smethwick Galton Bridge Not Suspicious
A person has died following an incident at Smethwick Galton Bridge railway station, with police confirming the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers from British Transport Police were called to the station at 9.53pm on Friday, 1 May, after reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency services attended the scene, but the individual was pronounced dead.
Authorities have confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the incident are not considered suspicious, and the case will now be referred to the coroner.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
“Officers were called to Smethwick Galton Bridge Railway Station at 9.53pm on 1 May following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
