Police Incident Disrupts Rail Services Between Denmark Hill and Bellingham
Passengers travelling through south-east London are facing disruption this evening after police responded to an incident near the railway between Denmark Hill railway station and Bellingham railway station.
All lines through the affected area are currently disrupted, with trains between the two stations facing delays and reduced speeds while emergency services continue dealing with the incident. Disruption is expected to continue until around 21:15.
Passengers travelling between Denmark Hill and Catford railway station are being warned journeys could take up to 20 minutes longer than usual.
Thameslink said trains may be held at stations while police work near the line, and services that are able to continue through the area will operate cautiously at reduced speed.
The operator also urged passengers not to attempt to leave trains unless instructed by railway staff, warning of the dangers posed by electrified third rails and moving trains.
Passengers are being advised to check live travel information before setting out as delays and service alterations continue across the area.
