Police respond to welfare concerns involving girl at Pershore station
Police were called to a Worcestershire railway station on Monday morning following reports raising concerns for a young girl’s welfare.
Officers attended Pershore Railway Station shortly after 11am on January 12 after the incident was reported. Emergency services from more than one police force were involved in responding to the situation.
West Mercia Police confirmed they were first alerted just after 11.10am. Officers attended the station and ensured the girl received appropriate support.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
"We received a call around 11.10am this morning following the concern for the welfare of a girl at Pershore Railway Station. Officers arrived and the girl was left in the care of the appropriate health service."
British Transport Police later confirmed they were also called to the station, responding to a separate report of concern for welfare later in the morning.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
"We were called to Pershore station at around 12.25pm today, Monday January 12, following reports of a concern for welfare. Officers attended and a person was taken to a place of safety."
No further details have been released about the circumstances of the incident.
