Trains Cancelled and Revised as East Croydon Platforms Shut for Safety Reasons

Some platforms at East Croydon station have been closed for safety reasons, causing disruption to services running through the station.

Platforms 1 and 2 are currently out of use, meaning trains may be cancelled, revised or moved to different platforms while the issue is dealt with.

Thameslink and Southern services that normally call at East Croydon may be affected by platform changes, while some services could terminate at a different station than usual.

Passengers are being advised to allow an extra 20 to 30 minutes to complete their journeys.

This may affect trains on the following routes:

• Gatwick Express between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport / Brighton

• Southern between London Victoria and East Grinstead / Uckfield / Littlehampton / Ore / Bognor Regis / Portsmouth Harbour, and between Watford Junction / London Bridge and East Croydon

• Thameslink between Peterborough and Horsham, Bedford and Three Bridges, Cambridge / Bedford and Brighton

Disruption is expected to continue until 17:00.
