Woman Sexually Assaulted on Doncaster to Wakefield Train

Detectives have released an image after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train travelling between Doncaster railway station and Wakefield Westgate railway station.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Tuesday 14 April when a man allegedly followed a woman through the train before sexually assaulting her during the journey.

Police say the suspect later left the service at Wakefield Westgate station.

British Transport Police officers believe the man shown in the released image may be able to assist with enquiries and are appealing for the public’s help in identifying him.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 652 of 14 April. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
