Appeal launched after man sexually assaulted on train in South Yorkshire

Detectives are appealing for help to identify a woman in connection with a sexual assault on board a train travelling between Sheffield and Worksop.

The incident took place at around 9.40pm on Sunday 14 December 2025. Police say a man was walking through the carriage when he was sexually assaulted by a woman seated on the train.

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries. Officers believe she may have information that could assist with establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detectives are urging anyone who recognises the woman, or who may have witnessed what happened, to come forward to help with the investigation.
