Kings Norton Rail Disruption: Emergency Incident Closes All Lines

Rail services in the Kings Norton area have been suspended while emergency services respond to an incident on the line.

All routes through the affected section have been closed to allow teams safe access, meaning trains are currently unable to run between Birmingham New Street railway station and Droitwich Spa railway station / Worcestershire Parkway railway station.

As a result, services are being cancelled, delayed or revised, with disruption affecting journeys across the wider route. Passengers are being advised to expect changes to normal timetables and allow additional time for travel.

West Midlands Railway has arranged ticket acceptance on alternative operators, including National Express coach services, to help passengers complete their journeys. Alternative road transport is also in the process of being sourced. However, these arrangements may be withdrawn at short notice, so travellers are urged to check before setting off.

At this stage, there is no confirmed time for when services will return to normal, with disruption expected to continue until the end of the day.
