Rail Services Halted After Person Struck by Train in Kent

Emergency services are responding after a person was struck by a train between Canterbury West railway station and Ashford International railway station.

All lines through the area have been closed while emergency crews carry out their work safely, leaving trains unable to move between Canterbury West and Ashford International.

Passengers are being warned that services may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes, with disruption currently expected to continue until around 11:00.

Some services that would normally run through Canterbury West are being diverted via Dover where possible.

Rail replacement transport has also been requested to help move passengers through the affected area.
