Witness Appeal After Woman Sexually Assaulted on Train From West Croydon
British Transport Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted on board a train departing from West Croydon railway station earlier this month.
The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Wednesday 6 May when a man approached a woman while she was seated on the train and allegedly asked her for money.
Police say the man then began invading the woman’s personal space before attempting to kiss her.
During the incident, another passenger stepped in to intervene, prompting the man to move away through the carriage.
Detectives are now urging anyone who witnessed what happened, particularly the passenger who intervened or others sitting nearby, to contact officers as enquiries continue.
