Horsham Station Racist Attack: Two Women Abused and Spat At

British Transport Police have launched an appeal after two women were racially abused and assaulted at Christ’s Hospital railway station in Horsham.

The incident happened at around 7.15pm on Wednesday 6 May, as one of the women was walking through the station. Officers said a boy racially abused her, attempted to take her bag as she passed, and then followed her while continuing the abuse.

A second woman later arrived at the station, and the pair sat together. Police said the boy then sat with another boy on the opposite platform, where both directed further racial abuse towards the women.

The situation escalated when the boys crossed the tracks and kicked the shelter where the women were sitting. They also spat at them before boarding a train towards Horsham.

Officers have now released images of two boys they want to speak to, as they believe they may have information that could help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises them is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 626 of 6 May.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
